Ok, I am a day late and dollar short, but here are my 5 Random things!
1. This week we played a version of the snowball fight game using measurement. I created different line segments. One on the inside of each snowball- 6 in or shorter. The students had a bit of fun with the snowballs, then were asked to grab 1 and take it to their seat to measure. They wrote the measurement on a post-it and sorted themselves into like groups based on segment size. We then quickly graphed the post-its on the board and discussed it in detail.
Good fun!
2. This week (as seen in the post before this one) we had a super fun day. Please check out the post to learn about our fun day.
3. I love Thirty-One! Here is one of my newer bags that I love!!!! My dear friend Nina Kessler has sold me my Thirty-One bags and accesories. Thank you Nina! You may click the picture to go to her store.
4. I would love to be more organized and have one of those classroom set ups that makes people oooh and ahhh when they enter. Right now, it is fine. Cute even. But not a stunner. I am starting my plans now for next year and would love some ideas on set up. I have lots of green things and frog themed stuff. I am happy to continue this but need new inspiration and organizational ideas for it. Anyone?
5. I am having a "Dream" Sale this weekend. Click the link below to check it out!
Happy Weekend!

I found your blog through the linky. I always want to be more organized. In fact, I love to buy things to make me organized. Any pretty container gets me!
ReplyDeleteI agree, cute containers are good- I'm just cheap and never get them. I might have to get "into" buying them so that I have cute stuff to organize with! Thanks Liz!
DeleteFound your blog through the linky and am your newest follower! We also did a version of the snowball fight this week. We used it as a sight word review and created a poster to write the words on! Kids had a blast with it! As far as organization goes, I share a room with another teacher so I have to make every inch count on my half. I have taken out the teacher's desk and a file cabinet to add more space. I also was lucky enough this summer to find someone who had put those cute metal wheel storage/organizers on the curbside. They have 8 (I think) colorful baskets that you can pull out. They sell them at Michaels for $35ish. This is where I store my stations for literacy and math and I use another one to store all of materials I will need for the week. They have been a real lifesaver. Hope that helps!?!

Thanks for your input. NICE find- those rolling carts are cute!
DeleteYour snowball activity sounds like something my Firsties would like too!
ReplyDeleteI have lots of frogs in my classroom also. This year I added some bright colors and polka dots. I love it but still have more I want to add this summer. =)
I am happy to be your newest follower. I would love for you to hop over and visit me when you get the chance. =)
