Wow, were we busy!

We have been working hard on a lot of things this week.
We are:
*Preparing for Dr. Seuss week, next week
*Trying to do a bit of Spring cleaning....for those of you snowed in don't get mad...we have warm, windy weather right now and it inspires cleaning
*Assessing for report cards and preparing for conferences

Well, with all that, I have a few things to share for the Friday 5...on Saturday!

1---
I have been trying to figure out a cool bulletin board or decor (to do 1st thing Monday morning).  I want to do something like the pics below.  Something cool that catches attention!  I don't do a ton of fun boards these days...too busy/tired/etc.  I found this somewhere in the land of Pinterest!  Dr. Seuss week is the perfect week to do something new and different.

2---
My class completed their flag ceremony presentation.  The kids wrote about adventures they would have with Thing 1 and Thing 2 and drew pictures to go with it.

3---
My oldest daughter had a feast and celebration from the Renaissance era in her class on Valentine's Day.

4---
I can't wait to try this cute thing this week!  I found it on Pinterest.
Fun idea!

5---
I missed the NM Blogger get together a bit ago.  Then the folks who went, didn't get to take any pics, so I don't have any to share via the other folks.  I hope to get another visit organized around April.  I really wanted to attend, but had a special thing that came up for my daughter, and we couldn't turn it down.
She was given a supporting role on one of Investigation Discovery's shows.  She got to play the daughter of a murder victim.  My daughter LOVED every second of it.  It was quite an opportunity.  We loved the people she got to work with, all such amazing and kind people.  We would do it again in a heart beat.
Here she is waiting for the shoot to begin.

Have a Seuss-tacular week everyone!

Friday 5 and a Fundraiser

I am linking up with the Five for Friday party.  Click on the pic below to join in too.

There is a fundraiser going on for a school in my state.  It is in support of the Roswell middle school victims' families and community of Roswell.  The blogger over at My Fabulous Class helped create this great fundraiser with help from many top TpT sellers.  Check out her site or post by clicking on the heart or go straight to the products by clicking on the product cover page below.

We had our 100th day on Friday.  It was a great day.  We created a trail mix with everyone bringing in 100 food items each (cereal, goldfish, raisins, choc chips, etc.).  I combined the food together in a big bowl and passed out a cup full to each kiddo.  The kids then sorted the items into groups and graphed the food items....and ate it all.

We made 100th day crowns and completed a variety of 100 exercises (hula hooping, jumping, toe touching, steps, etc.).  I made a frame for a 100th day photo and created a silly door entrance.

It was exhausting and fun.

I've had a few folks ask about apps that are good for math and reading lately.  I don't really know a ton of examples of apps.  So, anybody out there feel like sharing some cool ideas that you have come upon?

My class will present a flag ceremony in a couple weeks.  I am doing it on Dr. Seuss' book The Cat in The Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2.  We are using a page out of a TpT product I bought.  It's a good product by Kindergarten Korner- it's good for 1st too.  If you need some Seuss ideas, check it out by clicking on it.

This morning there will be some super fun Blogger people getting together.  I really wish I could go, but I have family things going on and won't make it as I had hoped.  Have fun and send me pics so I may post your cool Valentine crafts on my blog!!!

Musical Pirates

On Friday night, our school had a musical presentation.  My cutie pie 1st graders were in it, along with a few other grades.  The play was called "Pirates" and turned out very cute!  Our music teacher, all the enrichment teachers, and our curriculum specialist did an amazing job creating a wonderful presentation.  The kids did a great job and had the best time!  My daughter was in it too.  As you can see in the pic below, she is one cute pirate- Arrrgghhhh!

Happy game day!  I don't watch- but good luck to your teams...

Currently....love month

It is the month of love, February!  Time to link up with Farley!

Oh' boy fourth grade

Wanting and needing:  I have been working on thinning out the items I am keeping for future years.  After many years of collecting, it is time to purge in a big way.  I have bins, bins, and more bins, full of stuff I never unearth!  I just store it.  No need to keep hogging space in the garage.

Truths/Fib:  Fib 1. I don't like colored pants...I do jeans, black, brown, tan, and grey pants.  I just don't like colorful pants on me.  I really don't like wearing corduroy.  It makes a crazy sound when you walk and I don't like that.
Truths 2 and 3- I love books that take me to another place/time.  It's just good fun.
I love when JT hosts Sat Night Live.  He is so funny!  I also can't help but love his music.  I was not a fan AT ALL of his boy band years, but think he's pretty cool now.

Happy February
