Well, just when I thought I was done with the wrist stuff... I ended up getting off the sling and non-washable splint and traded it out for this- cutey......insert sarcastic voice.
I put it next to some Easter stuff to make it look less blah. I'm calling it my fancy glove.
It's a removable splint that I don't have to wear 24/7 but anytime I might need reminders that I have to take it easy or when I need support. It's the same thing folks who have carpal tunnel use. It is great that I can take it off though! It will be around for 4-6 weeks. Sooo, it makes typing tricky. That is my excuse about not posting a lot, and I'm sticking to it! No seriously though, I will keep doing the best I can.
I just checked out GoNoodle and I love it! I don't have a smart board at school, so I am trying to configure something so I can bring it to school. I REALLY want to use it in class. They would flip their lids!
Check it out and have some fun!

Spring Break and a Sale!
Today is my last day of Spring Break. Phew, did I need a breather from... everything. Even though I had to have surgery, doc apts, and go through some emotions due to my grandma's passing- I'm grateful that, at the least, I got to rest a bit this week and wear my jammies...all day. I've been needing a break.
So far, I have sat down for hours and graded and planned (left handed-not the neatest), and took naps! I feel better prepared for the coming weeks. Although, I am nervous about my board writing abilities! I am super right handed...should prove to be an interesting couple weeks until my wrap and sling are gone!
Well, with spring in our super windy air and visions of cleaning in my head, I am joining in on the spring sale linky.

If you wish to join Georgia Grown Kids, as well, click the pic above.

Green is my favorite/ 5 for the week
Time for the 5! Click the pic below to join in.

1. I enjoy when March arrives. There is always a ton of fun green things in the stores. It just so happens, green is my favorite color- well so is turquoise. But green is the first one I think of.
Since St. Patty's Day is coming this way fast, I am preparing for the event in my classroom. I have printed up my packet that is all about St. Patty's Day. Click the pic below to check it out on TpT.

Have a great weekend!!!

2. We began researching endangered animals with our big 4th grade buddies.
We get their help to research one animal per child and learn a variety of facts about that animal using the libraries resources. It's always an enlightening and fun project. The students then create a Power Point presentation with the information they have gathered.
3. We loved Dr. Seuss week, which we did last week. Here is a pic of our healthy banana and strawberry snack. I also used the following items for Sam I Am juice (apple) and Hop on Pop- corn that we had. The Washi tape was used as a flag near the top of the straws. It made it look Thing 1 themed. The kids LOVED it!

4. My daughters have begun swimming lessons...it feels officially like Spring! It's really cool this year, my oldest uses the diving board- tentatively- every class. My youngest is now able to do unassisted back floats. Wow! Those are big steps for us. Neither of my kids have been amazing swimmers yet as we don't go that often. So, I am very proud of their progress.
5. Has anyone seen these earbuds before? They seem cool, but I am hesitant to buy them. They say they are safe for children as they don't allow the sound to go to a level that is too high for young eardrums. Click on the image and it will take you to Amazon to check it out. If you have gotten these before, please leave me a comment stating your opinion. I read the reviews on Amazon, but I'd like to hear a teacher's perspective. Thanks!

Have a great weekend!!!

March Currently '14
Wow, I know I probably say this every month, but I am truly amazed it is already March. The time continuum seems to be on a constant warp drive....or whatever you techy/ sci-fi folks might say. :)
Time is going way toooo fast. I can't seem to slow things down, no matter how hard I try to!
Well, enough complaining, here is the linky for March! Click the deer with glasses to join in on the March currently linky.

The only thing that needs explanation are the answers to the questions in the last row.
1. What does my daughter call St. Patrick's Day?
2. What makes my students laugh uncontrollably?
3. What makes me nervous?
Have the most amazing March!!!

Wow, were we busy!
We have been working hard on a lot of things this week.
We are:
*Preparing for Dr. Seuss week, next week
*Trying to do a bit of Spring cleaning....for those of you snowed in don't get mad...we have warm, windy weather right now and it inspires cleaning
*Assessing for report cards and preparing for conferences
Well, with all that, I have a few things to share for the Friday 5...on Saturday!

1---
I have been trying to figure out a cool bulletin board or decor (to do 1st thing Monday morning). I want to do something like the pics below. Something cool that catches attention! I don't do a ton of fun boards these days...too busy/tired/etc. I found this somewhere in the land of Pinterest! Dr. Seuss week is the perfect week to do something new and different.

2---
My class completed their flag ceremony presentation. The kids wrote about adventures they would have with Thing 1 and Thing 2 and drew pictures to go with it.
3---
My oldest daughter had a feast and celebration from the Renaissance era in her class on Valentine's Day.
4---
I can't wait to try this cute thing this week! I found it on Pinterest.

5---
I missed the NM Blogger get together a bit ago. Then the folks who went, didn't get to take any pics, so I don't have any to share via the other folks. I hope to get another visit organized around April. I really wanted to attend, but had a special thing that came up for my daughter, and we couldn't turn it down.
She was given a supporting role on one of Investigation Discovery's shows. She got to play the daughter of a murder victim. My daughter LOVED every second of it. It was quite an opportunity. We loved the people she got to work with, all such amazing and kind people. We would do it again in a heart beat.
Here she is waiting for the shoot to begin.
