February Currently 2016

Join in the Currently fun with the amazing Farley at:

Oh Boy It's Farley

Thinking- I have a lot of evidence/pics to gather for the Domains.  In NM (as I imagine other states) we have to organize our info for the various Domains to turn into the PED via our principals.  That always takes awhile.

Swooning- My PTA (after a presentation I put on requesting funds) has decided to fully fund my trip to RCA's National Educator Conference.  They are paying airfare, food, hotel, training fee, and giving extra for any materials I may see to purchase to for training staff when I return.  I will then put on a staff PD in August when we return to school.  LOVING my PTA for their help!!!

Yesterday my class celebrated the 100th Day.  So, I threw on a wig, old lady scarf, and a bunch more wrinkles (already had some naturally, ha) to celebrate in old people style.  Some of my kiddos dressed the part too.  They were so funny!
Happy February People!!

  1. We are on our second snow day here in Colorado Springs! That's exciting about your DIBELs scores. We started out with really low kids this year, and even though they're making huge gains, our district wasn't impressed. Oh well! We'll just keep on doing what we're doing! And Ron Clark Academy?!?! I went last May and it was something I'll never forget! Have fun!!!

    1. This is our 5th snow day for the year. We are ready for spring here! I am sooo excited for my trip. Thank you. Hey- whether your district is "impressed" or not...just keep doing what you do and make those strides. Good luck.

    1. I never thought I would go...just kinda figured it was fun sounding but never really thought about trying....until this year. I can't tell you what it was but I just felt it was the year I was going to make it happen. Your time will come, too. :)

  3. Wow! You are so lucky to have the PTA pay for your trip to RCA - that's a trip of a lifetime!

We have a snow day here in WI, too.

Congrats on the testing gains - such a confirmation of all the hard work!

    1. Yes, we have a fabulous PTA who loves the teachers and supports the school in ways I think are sooo above and beyond the normal PTA out there.

      Thanks!

  4. I was so excited to see that you're a NM/ABQ blogger! I'm moving to Albuquerque this July (I was born/raise/and am currently living in Hawaii) to teach! Can't wait to read more of your blog!

    1. Love Hawaii! My hubby and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon (17 years ago) and we have wanted to go back ever since! We almost got there this winter...but life happened. You may shrivel a bit when you get here- very dry. Best tip when you get here- drink tons of water and if you get light headed or have lots of headaches- talk to a dr. Many people move here and get altitude sickness without even knowing it. I technically live 20 min from ABQ in the East mtn area. Feel free to look me up when you come! :)
